DH and I found out there is a big learning curve with a LA. He is very mechanically minded and can fix anything but he was even stumped about some things. It takes practice and also talk to the company about problems. We finally traded in the used machine we bought and got a Nolting.

You may be trying to quilt too fast. You may be using needles which are wrong for the machine or too lightweight for machine quilting. Machine quilting needles must be larger than piecing needles so they don't flex with the movements. Flexing causes bad stitches or broken needles. Have fun and hope you figure it all out.
