I was so happy when they put the fabric departments back in at both Wally's in our town. Then Jo-Ann's came back .. Wooooooooohoooooooooooo.. I still shop LQS, Hobby Lobby and whereever else (online or off) that I can find for good reasonably priced materials.

All I can say is shop till you drop or just stand there and drool for a while if the hubs is with you. LOL

We will be getting ours back when Walmart does the remodel in Feb. and it will be nice to have somewhere local to buy fabric again.

Of two that I frequent, One has yardage the other not. The one with yardage has no one immediately available to cut, You have to wait for someone clear accross the store to come & cut. Usually a long wait. My time is to vaulable, unless it is something I abdsolutely have to have. Chain fabric stores & LQs have someone there all the time, also they are knowledgable about fabric & quilting-sewing.

They are in the process of super sizing our Walmart. And the fabric dept got smaller.

Keep watch, they are supposed to be bringing them back, class lawsuit that if they had fishing and tools for men, they needed to have sewing for women. We always had one here, and super WalMart 15 miles from here went to very small material/sewing department. I was in there last week and it is larger than it used to be. So you may get a supprise, and ask store manager or assistant when they are bring it back to your store. The will do what customers want if enough push for it. And contact corporate too and ask. I find a lot of fabric in there that is good and great designs, and alot of it going to more of a quilt shop cordinated fabrics type set up.

The Wally closest to me is remodeling, maybe we'll get fabric. We lost our aquarium a year ago, maybe it will come back, too.

Congratulations. Maybe a Wal-Mart near me will get fabric back, as the one closest to me has a pitiful craft area, let alone fabrics, and the one just a little further away, nothing. It's disappointing, as I loved shopping the fabric dept., especially when I needed background white on white or beige on beige prints, or backing fabric. Someday maybe.
