New Project - Tree of Life
#22
In line with the suggestion for using fall leaves, I've seen a tree of life done as a four seasons tree. It was a really awesome stained glass piece that if I were rich I might forego a bunch of fabric purchases to own!...hmm, maybe I could ask the artist if I could borrow the design for a quilt???

This is what is so great about this board. One thing leads to another and soon you have all our great minds taking the lead and running with it. I love all the suggestions since this is more of an "inspiration" piece. If I like doing it, I can see me doing more of them and I love all the suggestions.

Went to a semi local quilt shop and picked up some fabrics for the Tree of Life. THEN went to my local JoAnne's and used my 10% off of total sale (including sale items) as well as $7 that was left on a gift card and picked up $12 MORE fabric. They had their fat quarters on 50% off so I picked up fat quarters I thought would work in the Tree of Life. Here are the results.
Ok, a bit of explanation:
The green leaf fabric at the top (looks more like brown but still it is green)will go across the top and half way down each side. The inside will be the pink and blue batik. The brown will be the tree trunk and the darker green spiral leafs are...well just that....leafs. the rest will go down the bottom half of the sides and around the bottom. Lots to cut out and applique. :)
