We have a meeting each month, two of which are picnic and party months. But it is the quilt show which holds the club together. It is well known and well attended, so we keep it up, and try to make things during the year to put in it. Otherwise the meetings are not much. Show and tell is mostly show, very little tell. I think this should be a learning experience, so we need to hear about the why, how, when, where of the item, and especially the problems that may have been encountered along the way. I don't know if I will ever be able to change this, but I love to see all the things others bring in anyway.

All of the above. Can't say too many times, don't let the meetings get bogged down in business decisions. I left a guild because of that issue. It seems the members who were not working met during the day to do the quilting activities and the business was left to the monthly evening meetings. There is a "serious" guild in the area that is very successful, and puts on the most wonderful shows. Don't belong 'cause there are a number of things you must commit to, to join. I have a part time job and other hobbies that take most of my time.
