    Default New Quilt started

Finally finished piecing and squaring all the blocks on my next project. Cathedral by Villa Rosa Designs. Can't decide if I want to mix up the blocks randomly or if arranging them by like a prism would look better.

    What would you do?

Also, I can't find it in myself to part with the squaring up scraps! There's got to be a use for them....maybe in my themed art quilt. Trying to figure out how to make a 3-D jellyfish...seems like these scraps would be a cool embellishment for coral.

What a wonderful quilt this will make. I don't have a suggestion about how to lay it out. Maybe make the blocks and then play with placement. I often take a picture of a layout and look at it on the computer, it helps

The scraps are pretty. I might put them in a clear glass jar and just look at them--at least until you think of another use for them.

I think I'd follow the colors of a rainbow for the layout. As far as the scraps, I can't blame you for wanting to use those too. Found myself in the same predicament a few days ago and decided to use Mod Podge to glue them onto an empty round oatmeal box...wanted a special place to store more of the same. Good luck!

When I look at your skinny scraps, I see kelp flowing in the water, in different colors. Lovely colors!!

I did this for 3d jellyfish on a wall quilt: take the clearest bridal illusion, or one with a tint with some glitz to it, form your top bulb of the jellyfish body and stuff those pretty color strips into the body part, let a few hang out as the tentacles.

I save my teeny scraps in a bag and use them for stuffing in pillows.

Great blocks. Will be fun waiting to see how you arrange them. For the string scraps. You could wind them around cloths lone rope & zigzag together to make either hot pads or fabric bowls & baskets out of them. The coloring of your scraps, they wpuld be beautiful.

I'm thinking I'd put a block in the center and radiate out in gradient 'colors' - IF you have enough blocks to do that. (much like your colors in your skinnies are grouped) Can you do a couple of layouts and post pics?
I have nothing for you on the skinnies! I toss mine without hesitation
