Welcome to the quilting world (it might become addicting). You'll love this site - so full of sharing, caring people.

Another place I've found reasonable fabric is:
    http://www.thousandsofbolts.com/inde...3&redirect=yes

Enjoy & have a blessed day

I am spoiled by living near here:

    http://www.whittlesfabrics.com/

Why pay more for the same name brand fabrics?

A lower price does not necessarily mean a lower quality fabic! They have low overhead as they are located in a very small community in a metal building with concrete floors. It sure ain't fancy but I love the savings!

And the ladies are just sweet dears too. So glad that I am able to run over there in about 30 minutes :-)

Save your money and only buy really good fabric has been my motto after getting burned on "cheap" or "inexpensive" choices at places like Hobby Lobby, WalMart, etc. But I would also suggest it makes a difference in what you're making. I'm a hand quilter and don't want to invest that time and love into inferior quality. Also, poor quality fabric is also harder to piece!

    Inexpensive fabric? IT DOESN'T EXIST.

Check out the classifieds on this site. There are some amazing deals on fabrics.

Morning ladydi64 - doing great - no, too far away to drive myself. But actually I have a ride up to Ft. Worth area to my youngest grandsons 40th BD Sat.

He doesn't think I am able to come up, & his wife planned a surprise for him - she's had a LG. box made to wrap up like a present & wants me to 'pop' out of it. She's got me long black gloves to wear so I can just put my hand out the top waving a boa 1st (so he won't recognize my OLD hand) & I have a BIG floppy red hat (red hat society type) to wear.

Have fun "working" in a quilt shop. If I were younger & could still work, that would be a dream job. (Of course probably would probably owe them $$$$ on payday) ;) OOPS meant at the quilt show.

If you're ever up in the Austin/Georgetown area, would love to meet you. happy quilting

    Hugs

Ask quilters in your area about places that sell "not this years fabric". We are lucky here to have more than one place to buy good fabric at huge discounts. The shop owner has a source for out of date goods and passes the savings along in their shop. The shops are not the same as LQS shops but have a great supply of different types of fabric and all things related. I would have an anxiety attack if they ceased to exist. Don't get me wrong,I love the LQS high end places but I have to save big bucks for some projects.

Online is a good source. Thousands of Bolts is quite inexpensive.
