Default New to quilting but not sewing...

Hi, I have been sewing furniture for 30 years. But this quilting thing has me going crazy. I bought the omni 10 in square ruler thinking it would make things easier...Wrong...I am trying to make a basic pinwheel. I use the omni to make squares using center to divide my blocks into triangles. Somehow I keep coming out with 12 inch squares. I want 10 inch squares....what do I do....help please...thanks in advance....

Have you stitched the triangles together? What about the quarter inch seam allowances--are they accounted for?
