I just joined this forum last night and have already gotten so much help! It's like my Grandma is right here with me :-D! I just cut my backing for the quilt and I'm about to sew it together. When I press the seam do I do it flat or like the top do I press it to one side or the other?? Thanks!!

Welcome to the board! For backing, usually you take a bit larger seam allowance (1/2" ), and press open.

You will no doubts get lots of answers but I always set the seam....ie simply press over where you ha sewn without opening it or moving it one side and then I press both sides to the darker fabric...hope that helps...and welcome from the Uk....lots of great quilters here to really support you.
