I think a plain ol' red tomato pin cushion would work just as well

I would never buy anything like that..noisy..waste of $$$ and waste of time..having to re-load it and take one at a time... I just keep my pins in a little plastic bowl that has a cover

My thoughts exactly, another way to make money - I personally can just pick mine up one at a time out of the pin cushion, or plastic jar with a lid that I have some in, or pour several out on the table where I am working, and save myself $20.00. I guess you would say I am tight like that.
Now it if would pin whatever I was working on for me, then I might go for it.

I went to pick up a quilt I had a LA baste for me this morning. There on her work table was one of these! I laughed and told her about the postings here about it. She said she loved it! She had seen the bigger automatic ones and always wanted one for herself. The machine never jammed up the whole time I was fiddling with it. She had different size of pins in it but said she liked one size she uses the most so she'll only put that size in it so each pin will be the same. She had a second one still in the box for her other sewing room. She said everyone at her FMQ group had one so I guess many do like them.

Takes up space, uses batteries(money&disposal), funnel takes up space...one more thing to break and fuss with if it jams. I love gadgets but this one doesnt make sense to me.

As most of us don't particularly care for this gadget (notice I didn't say little gadget), the ones that do love it will probably be able to get it at a great clearance price around Christmas at Hancock Fabrics - they have them there.
