I called a quilting buddy of mine and when she found out it was free and she could use everything from her stash, she said, "what time do you want me to bring over my stuff?" LOL This will be fun. I will see if I can get her to join this board as well
Ok off to cut strips!

I've got all 23 fabric pieces (most at 6") in the washer with a color catcher and retayne. I tried doing it in the sink and there was way too much color coming out of the fabric. Going to keep an eye on it and see if it might need a second wash! I am doing Black and White strips with 2 greys.
You should have seen me scouring around for that 23rd piece! Whew! I stopped at my LQS yesterday to get 1/8th yard of all their "dark reading" B&W's and I sure didn't want to go back and get one more!

Yea, some of the blacks left me some dark water. Since I get into my mess of washed strips, I decided that I should place them in a large bowl of starch. This is time consuming, but worth it I think! I am in the ironing stage now, cutting may have to wait till tomorrow.

Oh, Just decided that since I am prewashing my strips, I might as well toss the greys into the washer and iron em out too!
Am I making too much work out of this? I think having everything starched and pressed may help me keep this mystery together!

I have to go buy the light fabric tomorrow- I just don't seem to have any- then will be joining you in the wash- press dash Since the strips were already washed - I like to keep everything the same

I think I am going to jump in on this one also. I so like the Orca Bay Mystery Quilt that I am working on now. It looks as if this one may be a lot easier and quicker. And, best of all I can pull all of the required fabrics from my stash.
