    Newbie quilter with a question on cutting fabric

    I would do like most said, follow the pattern first. I never cut my fabric into smaller pieces until I am sure what I am doing.

    I definitely read the pattern first. If it says to cut 5~ 2 inch strips WOF I will cut an 11 inch piece square up and cut my 5~2 inch strips.
