Newbie's alert

I am not exactly a newbie, but obviously still in the learning process.
Most everyone already knows this, I am sure, but I was slow to try it.
I had purchased 1/4 inch foot to help me with my seams, but it was not doing the job for me; I was still not keeping it even. So, I finally took advise from THIS list & added a 3-dimensional strip in front of the needle for about 6 inches & NOW my 1/4 inch seams are so much fun!! &
accurate.
What took me so long?! Thank you QB.

I am going to have to try this. I have heard about it before, but thought I shouldn't need it since I have several different ways to get 1/4", including 1/4" foot.
Last night I was sewing again, and AGAIN didn't sew a consistent 1/4" seam. I was so frustrated.
Your post is a reminder to me, and I'm going to go this route next time I sit down at the machine. Thanks!
