This is what I use because of the price and I find it works very well for me. You do not need a lot so do not overspray.

The box starch you had to cook was called Argo. I remember it well.

Oh my, you just brought back memories! I remember my Mom used to use that...back in the day when people ironed clothes.... :-P

I posted about the non-aerosol. I love it! I was comparing it to "Best Press." Same scent, basic ingredients and much better price!

I also think it does very well. One trick is when you spray it give it a chance to sink in to the fabric and you won't have that white stuff on you fabric and you won't have build up on your iron

I use Niagara Spray Starch all the time and love it. I buy it at Dollar General for $1.25 and sometimes for $1.00 when it is on sale.

Thanks, I will remember that. Got one not a mile from my house. Also the Niagara has 2 more ozs than the Faultless.

I can still smell it. Mom had a coke bottle with a spout with holes that she sprinkled clothes with. Dad wore kaki pants & she starched & ironed them. Had these pants frames to stretch them out but I can't remember if she put them on before or after ironing them. Funny how things come back around. DS always wears starched shirts & jeans unless he is wearing a tee shirt.

Insects???? Now I recall that hearing that which is why I bought the Mary Ellen's Best Press instead. I starched because the teacher said to starch before cutting and thought the Niagara would do better.

Excellent question, so I went to the Niagra website, and e-mailed them your question. I asked them how long we can safely wait before washing the quilt after it is made. I will post it here on this message as soon as they respond.

I heard back from the company that makes Niagra today and they stated: We do not recommend starching items that are not regularly washed. So I would say not to wait too long before washing your quilt!
