No-batting quilt?

Yes, I like to have a quilt w/o batting for the summer (as what they are intended for) when the a/c is on....it's just enough to keep the chill away. I have a top ready to be quilted and I was thinking about doing the back with flannel, no innards...not sure just yet.

If I was going to do a quilt with two cotton pieces, I would find the cheapest thinnest flannel I could, wash it several times for shrinkage and use it as the "batting" . But as I learned early on from a long time quilter.......it is your quilt, do it anyway you want to.

Why not? I think it is a great idea.
So often our quilting projects are made to be used-so make something you can use. It gives a wonderful opportunity to show off your piecing, applique or whatever medium you use and still be useful.
