    This one that I did a while back. You can use a lot of scraps, and make the squares any size you like.

    What about a 10 minute block. Then use fab. that isn't really busy itself.

    I agree, this is one that you can make as simple or complex as you want.

    I'd show them several quilt pictures and see what types they like. Your ideas and theirs might differ greatly on what "not busy" means

    I agree with the idea of asking them to show you pictures of quilts that they like. It sounds like they have in mind what they like and what they don't.
