I think the point most are making, gaigai, is ...please don't just throw it away or store it. Either tie it, and then give it away, or send it along to a person who does charity quilts who will then finish it somehow and give it away or get it to the quilt shop and let them finish it.

The title sounds like you plan on throwing it away. That idea pains most of us...too expensive of a hobby to do that. :)

There are many church groups and guilds that donate to needy, deserving people (missionaries, hospitals, orphanages, rescue groups, police, firefighters, etc). My guild's work goes to the community's volunteer groups and hospital. We take donated fabric, too.

I LOVE, making tops, but hate making quilts. SID is a good idea if your stitching is straight or its back to the ripper. Try a wavy, curvy line near the joins and it won't be obvious that your lines aren't straight.

You can match the yarn to the colors in your quilt. And it will save you some money.
good idea, I feel same way about the one I'm on now, nearly threw it on the woodburner last night but thought it may cause chimney fire!!!!!!!!!
    Good Luck.
