One night I was working on a block and it simply wouldn't come out right. Measured, re-measured and it was wonky and a mess. Threw it over into a pile and started on a new one. That one went together like a charm. The next morning I picked up the one I had thrown into a pile, and thought I AM going to figure this one out. Laid it down, measured, and it was perfect. finished it up and now it is in the finished quilt. I have NEVER figured out what I was doing wrong that night. Guess I was just too tired to read a ruler. And yes, I have cut through finished blocks that had inadvertently found their way onto the cutting mat and I can't count right either sometime. Made new blocks only to find the finished ones in a few days. So you really aren't alone. A good night's sleep works wonders.

I did that over a week ago. I was at a guild thing and one of the ladies did a demo and said come try these blocks. Well I cut one wrong, sewed it wrong ...ummm twice then squared it up too small. I finally had enough and stopped. Did I mention I had an audience for this major blunder experience. lol All is good but I think it just happens sometimes and you have to stop and walk away.
