If I wasn't working ft I would just follow after her I think.
That sounds like the right thing to do, is to track behind some one that knows about a bargain.

(I deleted part of the original quote somehow, it was from cherrybsixty) sorry.

I was going to, but the weather wasn't nice so instead decided to get a cup of tea, a note book and make an inventory of what fabric I have got and what I can do with it, what's cut out ready to sew and if or what I need to finish off each quilt.

I was stunned! I have enough fabric to make 7 quilt tops and just enough batting for either two lap quilts or one 90x90 with some left over to join up at a later date. 2 of these quilt tops are already cut out, I just need to buy the border fabric for one and the backing for 5 of them. And this doesn't include the Flying Geese half finished one that recently resurfaced from a carrier bag after 2 years.
Then there is still enough FQ, Christmas fabric and the odd bits and strips and batting to make table runners, placemats and bags for gifts.

I need so much less fabric for the tops than I thought I did, so my Christmas money can go for more batting, backing and thread.
    I'm a very happy bunny!

    Have you been shopping yet?
Still can't believe I can get so much out of what I already have in stock! :-D

I am new, new, new at sewing anything. I love yard sales. Have found lots of fabric, notions, etc. Just bought a fantastic new sewing maching. Now all I need are ideas. Would anyone be willing to share ideas and how to's for easy gift ideas for 2010 xmas? I made my twin nine month old grandbabies xmas stockings for 09 xmas. Made kitchen towels for friends. Simple things to start with. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. By the way, you would be amazed at what you can find at a yard sale. I even bought several spools of thread.

Well, let's see now........I have one more day of 2009...and then all the family leave to head back home......and then the FUN begins.

I brought down tons of fabric so that I wouldn't have to go out before starting any new projects....guess what..I hooked onto Connecting Threads when they had the 50% off.....ordered 17 yards and it arrived yesterday.so now I have all the backings........

    but haven't the faintest idea
    of where to start........so......

Happy New Year all.......and the fun begins soon.....MaryJane

How nice to have all the supplies and just have to figure out what to make with them. I'm sure you will come up with something!LOL I think quilters always have a new project in the back of their minds that they would like to try.
