I read every new thread in main. Some suggest notions or books which they have found good. Do other people purchase them straight away, the same as I do.
A book recommendation sends me straight to Amazon to purchase and lately even tools and notions. I've got more books than the local library.

I like reading all the new threads in the "main" section too. I've got quite a few books on my Wish List on amazon now.

I'm a sucker for new tools and books.....especially books. Amazon is my favorite place to buy books.

I haven't bought much in a while, except what I got for gifts this past Christmas, but we love buying many different things we need from Amazon. They usually have the best deals.

Me too! Love the quilting "toys" and rarely am unhappy with purchasing one that has been touted on this board.

I usually check out the book or pattern or tool and read the reviews. Because of the exchange rate and shipping costs, I have stopped ordering from the US as freely as I used to, do much more research, and think long and hard before making a purchase. But I do have a wish list and keep an eye out for sales on those items.

I read quilt shop rep blogs and quilt facebook pages. A new notion or book hits those places first, some before they are ready for the market. I also subscribe to the quilt shop marketing magazine, all those free patterns shops seem to have are in that magazine for shops to use. https://www.fabshopnet.com/magazine_subscription.asp I love specialty rulers. I like having the exact right tool for the job.

I also read all the main threads but I will look at all the pictures on Amazon in a book and see if it suits my needs otherwise my budget would bust! I am always happy to read that someone found a notion that helps them quilt more accurate but I know that if I slow down and sew my seams a little slower I can achieve perfect seam accuracy. I did recently buy a MSQC set of three spools of Aurifil daily deal but just because someone suggested it, didn't get me to go out there a buy a spool. What may work for one quilter may not necessarily work for me.
