One Block Wonders book shows how to use triangles to make the octagons a square block.I'm looking for info on sewing half an octagon into rows.Is that in another book? Would like to try that way 1st. Thanks

Octagons - 8 sided - will not sew together without blank spaces, so you need those triangles.
Hexagons - 6 sided - will sew together without blank spaces. You sew each hexagon in halves and put them up on a design wall, and then sew the rows together, with one hexagon with the top half and one hexagon with the bottom half and alternate across. Then you sew the rows together to put each hexagon with its mate.

Looks like I need to read the OBW book again! Do any of the books show pics of sewing the halves in rows? Thanks for your help.

The following site has half hexagon instructions. I don't know if that will do for you or not. http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/sear...gon%20tutorial
