Those cubes really add a punch! Great work. I think the fabric produced interesting blocks.
What color are you going to "frame" it with before the final border?
I just got once off the quilt frame...Asian fabric, gold koi, purple wisteria. sorry..not camera = no pictures...darn..

I love the way the fabric gives a subtle look to your OBW. Looks like caramel and chocolate, or peanut butter and chocolate. Not, necessarily a criticism of your OBW, but personally I don't like the cube thing in OBWs, to me they don't make anything "pop", they just look like an after thought.

However, you might not like the closeness of the design. A more open design would have proeduced a different look. Good to have a tri-mirror when selecting fabric, then you will be able to see the kaleidscope effect.
This is exactly what a OBW is supposed to look like. There are options of placing a broad "slash" of a solid color that travels diagonally either all the way through the quilt or partially. Those with the books will understand what I'm talking about.
We all have our own style of block preference I suppose.

I have had projects where I didn't like the color or print. After putting them a way for a bit and then going back, I've often been surprised that I had been overly critical.

If you're fighting with it (color or print) set it aside and work on another easy fun project. Then go back with new eyes.

Your OBW quilt is soooo gorgeous!

I've already made a OBW and I love the results. Thecubes, however, made me crazy becuase I couldn't tell where the light was coming from. I love complicated quilt patterns but they always make me crazy and I regret starting them. I wonder what's up with that.

All I can say is Wow! Thanks for sharing. I wondered how hard it would be to make those cubes?

Wow! That is gorgeous! I just bought the book for the OBW and can't wait to get started. I would love to see an original picture of your fabric before you made the blocks. It always amazes me how pretty these quilts turn out when you see the original design of the fabric. Thanks for sharing.
