Ok, I know that I want to make an octagon (8 sided, not a 6 sided hexagon). I want to use 8 individual wedges. What I don't know is at what degree of angle do I cut the fabric into. I have searched this board and Googled the answer and somehow I'm just not getting it, I don't think. 45 and 60 don't work, the closest that I have came is 22 degree wedges. Please either confirm this or tell me what I am missing. Thanks in advance.

the center angle is 45 degrees - 360 degrees divided by 8

The angles of the triangle are 67.5, 67.5 and 45 degrees.

LOL, I obviously don't know as much (or as little) as I thought I did. After realizing I was overthinking this, I worked it out on my rotary mat. I was thinking right angle placed... well, don't ask me to explain what I was thinking... lol. It doesn't even make sense to me, but it's all good now. Thank you for the responses. (Gonna go hang my head in shame now.... lol).

I'll be glad when I can figure out how to make the different cuts of fabric.
