Awhile back the House of White Birches sent me a card about a book called 5-10-15+ fat quarters. I tossed it in my mail pile assuming that I was to send in the card if I wanted the book. WRONG!! Weeks later I'm sorting my mail and find the card and it says to send in the card if I DON"T want the book!! OH NO! Well, it was too late then and it arrived yesterday. My brain said "write return to sender" on it and get it out of the house quick. But my heart said "carefully open the box so it can be resealed after looking at the book and sent back". So I followed my heart and oh my gosh. I love the book. Quite a few projects I want to make. I am so gullible. So now I have to scrounge up $30 for them. Oh well. I didn't get any birthday presents this year so I'll say I bought it for my birthday!

    Boy are they sneakie

Wow! That is a mixed blessing indeed!
Is this the book? If it is, I would return it to HWB and order it from Amazon... a huuuge difference in price - for that extra money, you can get a second book!

Did you join something or in any way promise to fulfill an agreement? Was the card unasked for and unexpected? I do not think you have to pay for it. When those things happen you are not obligated. I would let them know you do not wish to receive future mailings, sometimes that is the start of a monthly thing!

You were meant to have the book, that's why the card never got sent. Keep it and enjoy, you are allowed to get yourself presents now and then!

I sent them a letter some time ago and saved a copy and asked them to acknowledge that letter. It said that any books that were sent to me that had not been requested would be kept. Havent' gotten another book!

But it is $13.46 at Amazon.com with free shipping if you spend $25.00. It retails for $19.95. So, why the $30.00?

Just bought my preorder for 13.96 from amazon!!! Thank you for the heads up I am part of the HWB book club and would have been really upset to see I could have bought it at a cheaper price! I have been wanting this book since I saw it in clotilde cataloge!

Usually with White Birches they'll send you a book every few weeks for your approval. Unless you want to be buying a lot of birthday gifts for yourself you might want to just ship the next ones back. They've got your name, address and info now. They will think they own you. LOL
