Default Oh Dear. I quilted the designs sideways instead of longways on baby quilt.

I'm just sick about it. I didn't realize until I was cutting off the excess batting and backing. I made a quilt for charity. It's a 4 patch with white blocks in between. So I purchased embroidery designs and got to it. It's just adorable. But then the light bulb went off. I stitched the cute pictures so that it's landscape instead of portrait. So when it's on the sick child's bed at the hospital the pictures are going to be going sideways instead of the length of the bed.

I am sure the baby won't mind.... when putting a baby to bed we stand sideways to the cot anyway... it will be fine, don't worry... as long as it is warm, that is all that matters...

Wouldn't that make it easier for the child to see? The other way it only looks pretty to people coming in the room. Who cares what visitors see? This is for the child.

It will be well loved. That's the kind of mistake that only we quiltmakers are likely to notice, and even then only in our own quilts.

Forget about it!! The child will love it anyway. I sometimes make that kind of quilt and rotate each block one turn as they go across and that way it looks good from any direction. All the child knows is that someone cared.

But when the child sits up and wraps the quilt around them, the pictures will be right-side-up!

You just made more of a snuggle-quilt than a bed quilt. Nothing wrong with that!!

What is the pattern? I doubt it will make any impact on the attractiveness of the quilt at all. You are your own worst critic!

Might end up as fantastic wall hanging.
