Thank you for this place. I have been checking out different places on the internet because I want to make my niece who has breast cancer a lap quilt and she loves the color purple. So my brain has envisioned a purple floral print and I have had no luck in finding what I want. The Fabric Depot has it. Thank you again.

There is a small quilt shop at the market that's fun to check out, but for Kaffe you should head over to Vashon Island to visit Island Quilter (http://www.islandquilter.com/). They have TONS of Kaffe and at $9.99 a yard, it's hard to beat their prices. It's a ferry ride away but SO worth the trip!

Keep in mind that OR doesn't have sales tax so all shopping at Fabric Depot has a 'built-in' rebate right out of the gate (depending on whether your state has sales tax...)!

Yes, I have heard of bus loads of people going to the store in Portland and making a whole day of it. They used to have a store in Salem, OR, too - - - seemed like they did a fabulous business - but alas, they closed it.

FD is the best! I try to get there at least once a month. It never fails, that no matter what I am searching for, I will find it there! I order online from them also, but after being in the store, their online selection seems puny! And all of their fabric is top quality

When our kids lived in portland that was a must stop. Here is a idea that I have used. get bulk mailing boxes from the post office and preprint the labels. Pack you purchases and drop them off at the post office. If you are staying at a Hotel give to the front desk and they will take it to the post office for you. Love the place to shop but I always get into trouble.
Also if you get a box and haven't used up your luggage allowed on the airline pack a big box full and check it in That works also.
a Fun place to go . kjym Kathy

I checked out their website. Great place but could get in serious trouble here. Found some free patterns to download also. Thanks for sharing.
