Yes you are all right ... He is the tops! He is really special, always has been. But, I am sure you gals have special guys too. Like attracts like ... right? I haven't known very many quilter's that weren't special people with wonderfully big hearts.

Ha ha ha I didn't do anything different that I know of. Lol!

Thanks ever so much for celebrating with me. I LOVE good surprises.

    He's definitely a keeper!

Hubby tells everyone of my "obsession" but does it jokingly. He doesn't complain, only that his quilt is not done yet!

My hobby doesn't spill into the household budget so he can't complain. And I've contained it- I only occupy one room now.

I had to cover my mouth to muffle the laugh about the reverse stitching... everyone is still asleep right near me in the living room.

How wonderful for you... about the machine AND the husband!

I just love how you girls understand how this would make you feel. Most people would just say,"Oh that's nice", while you are jumping up and down with glee inside like a five year old. Kinda spoiling the whole thing, ya know? BIG, big hugs to you all you sweet ladies.

Now I have to think of something that would just tickle him beyond belief like he has done for me. Oh Oh I know! I think I will clean up the garage! It isn't real bad, but, I need to purge many boxes of stored memories from there and make a donation to salvation army. He will not believe that act. what do you girls think? enough? :?:

I am thrilled for you! My husband does have a brother! LOL That is something myhusband would do.

I bought some fabric to make a friend of mine a quilt. I am a flowery kinda girl, she is not. So I bought a bunch of batiks. I had asked my husband first if it was o.k. We are really strapped for a while. He said to be reasonable but gave me the go ahead. I spent $107.00. OMGoodness! I told him what I had spent and he looked at me rather sad and said the fabric I had seen at a local shop on sale and drooled over we could not afford now. He said he had wanted to buy it for me for Valentines day. Oh I was sad but knew I needed to get the fabric for my friend. Well on Valentines day he gave me a package and there it was,the very fabric I LOVED. I didn't even think he really paid attention to me when I showed it to him! Our guys are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Enjoy your man!
    Have a great day,
    Sunshine

    Have a wonderful day!

:D You have the perfect picture, RedGarnet. We are all jumping up and down for you. You know how we all LOVE fabrics and all the doo dads that go with, and to have a hubby that might not quite get it, but gets the part where it's special to us...WOW...like my hubby teasing me that my sewing room is "my cave"..."honey...you in the cave?" lol...then building me shelves for Christmas and letting me get a new machine. These are the things that make up for all those 'drive me crazy' guy things they sometimes do. We wouldn't want them to be just like us anyway...if they started buying fabric, too, where would we sit?
I think, if cleaning the garage would please and surprise him, that would be perfect. I think he would get the part that you wanted to do something that meant something to him, just like he did for you.
How sweet, like the honeymoon days of, "no, honey, what would you like to do...where do you want to eat,...what movie do you want to see? what makes your little heart go pitter pat?" :D :D :D

I am glad to hear other gals on the board have had thier hubby's surprise them lately. My hubby would never go and have fabric cut for me. He would just give me a certificate or something. That is one special guy you have there alaskasunshine.
