OH MY OH MY WALMART!!!!!

I went there yesterday and they never carried the prepackaged. Besides that, the employee hasn't a clue what is going to happen. She was an older lady who had to write out the slip for each piece of material I bought by hand, then use a calculator to figure out how much it was for each one. She said they won't give them scanners for fabric and they have to do it all by hand and pin each slip to each fabric. That is the only department they do that in and it takes her three times as long to wait on people because it takes up so much time. According to her, the managers will NOT be thrilled with this change because it requires someone to be on the floor at all times, something managers do NOT want.
We shall see how this turns out. I'm sure all Walmarts are different.

If they are bring fabric departments back into Super Wal-Marts, do not expect to be right away. It will not be added back into the store until time for their next remodel which is usually every five years.

We never lost ours, it was just never restocked. Now it has been moved in the re-design of our local store. Fabric is nicer, but up by $1-$2 a yard in some cases. The dept. is a little smaller but much more organized.
Look no WalMart bashing.

Will be glad when it returns to my WM. I did get a deal when they closed. I bought all their black on black fabric for $.50 a yard. They had 7 different patterns and about 35 yards in total. I use a lot of black as accent, so it was great.

There was an article in the New York Times or one of the big newspapers that all the Wal-Marts are bringing back bolt fabric and should be done by September. I'll believe the Sept. time frame when I see it but it looks like all stores will be getting the fabric back.
