The metal tip aren't really necessary and are a pain in the neck to clean. Just barely open the Elmers and put little dots on the fabric. I have been using glue a lot in different applications. If you are doing bindings that you want to hand stitch down, make sure you press the binding after glueing as that will keep it from getting hard.

A few years ago, I found metal glue tips in a hobby shop located near the glues. Good luck!

I got a small bottle and metal tips at Michaels after seeing Sharon Schamber's video. The same technique works GREAT for binding, BTW.

Dozens of hits. Here are a couple, the descriptions mention use for quilting. Are these the right ones?:

I've been reusing an old Roxanne glue bottle.

Thanks for the Joann's link, I'll check it out next time I'm there. Michael's didn't have anything that was ultra-fine.
I booked marked this. Thank you..You all are great

Here's the one I use with Roxanne's glue or Elmer's Washable School Glue:

If you soak the metal tip in nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol for a couple of hours, they're very easy to clean.
