I love following the quilt barn trails. I attended the Quilt Trail Gathering in Ohio hosted by Donna Sue Groves. Her mother's barn boasts the first quilt painting. There were painters, jewelry makers, photographers, woodworkers, and other artists from all over the USA discussing and representing their roles in the spread of the quilt barn trails. Quilt barns are found in at least 23 states now.
I spoke about writing quilt themed novels. "Grow Old With Me" has a bed and breakfast with a quilt related theme. The story occurs in western NC. That area of the country has over 200 quilt barns in just a couple counties. http://www.quilttrailswnc.org/index.html
Eastern TN has several good trails too. http://www.vacationaqt.com/

My website and blog has many pictures of quilt barns from various states. http://www.melindaevaul.com
I'm currently plotting a book with a quilt barn painter as the main character.
