    My dinky mechanical Brother's instructions say never to oil it. My other dinky mechanical Brother just shows where to oil it, but not how often.

    My vintage machines get oiled more often than my new ones. I just use a rule of thumb to oil the old ladies every second time I use them and the newer ones when they get the lint cleaned out. I find a rountine easier to remembe.
