I buy some patterns and look on line, but as soon as it says "cut 100 strips/squares or whatever out of Fabric A, 100 out of Fabric B, etc." I get swirly in the head! So like cjomomma I use the general idea.

Well, I have too many patterns, fabric, notions, way, way too much thread and used to have too many machines. However, recently downsized to only two machines - one for home and one to take to class. Now am taking the "I will only shop from my stash" vow! If I can manage this discipline, one day I may be able to stick to a diet! LOL.

Yep, I sure do. Still have some from a quilt show several years ago. I look at them now and think, OMG what in the world did I buy this for???

The patterns I collect are doll clothes patterns. If you have the interest, they also can be addicting. My favorites are the 18" American Girl Doll, the 4.5 inch Barbie's sister Kelly, and the Skipper doll 9.5 inch teenage sisiter of Barbie! Sometimes I decelop my own patterns and I do use these quite a bit.

Just check out the classifieds and how many people on here sell patterns, books, and fabric. I think you'll find your answer is yes. A lot of us pick up stuff that when we get home we ask ourselves, "Why?" When I first started quilting I was much less selective than I am now. I find the proof of that every time I look through what I have. (O:

I have so many patterns, mostly free from the internet, that even if I did one pattern a day, I'd have to live to be 320 or older. And I'm 62 now.
