I have many different brands and they all seem to run away. So it seems I always am buying a new one. Oh well I guess when I die my kids will inherit a good 200 seam rippers if nothing else. IF they ever ind them

The one I have folds into it's self. I hate the ones with covers, always looking for the cover.

I like the small ones. I also have a pair of tiny clippers (blades are about 1 inch long) and those work pretty well too.

I was hoping this topic would come up again. I have found that the best seam ripper is a disposable surgical blade. I ordered a full box of #12 blades, they have a curve at the tip, I also have #11 blades, those are like the blade on an exacto knife; nice and thin, cheap enough that if the blade breaks you can take out another one. I ordered mine from a medical supply company that sells to the general public so long as it is a non prescription item. Another option is to talk with a surgery center if you have one near you, even a hospital, they may sell you one or two. I truly appreciate all I have learned from you guys, am awed by the beautiful work you do and share.

I got a Fons and Porter when they were on sale at either Joann's or Hancocks. It has a "fatter" handle and I like it.

I've had my favorite seam ripper for a multitude of years. Yes, it was dull and I just couldn't stand getting rid of it. My husband is a retired welder and had a set of very small round files in his toolbox.... Yep, I sharpened my seam ripper... Wah Hoo..... back in business.
