#1
A very dear neighbour of ours has just welcomed her first Grandchild into the world! I want to make a quilt (of course!!!!)- wondered if anyone could offer suggestions for something a bit special??
I don't want to use a printed panel and I do want to include some machine embroidery with the name, date, weight and time etc.
I also need to get this sorted in 4 - 6 weeks so I need it to work up prettty swiftly too !!!
Off you all go!!!! Ideas please!!!! (not asking very much I know!!!)
Thank you in advance!

Is it for a baby boy or girl. I bookmarked at site that someone had referred to a while ago called chitterchatdesigns.com and I remember they had the cutest Bo-peep quilt, but it is definately for a baby girl. Hope you find just the right quilt.

My all time favorite baby quilt is the Pinwheel Baby Quilt. A tutorial by Jodi can be found at the Moda Bakeshop.

I have made several of these in different colors and they always turn out nice. She has a flickr account for people who have made stuff using her tutorials. You can find a link in this blog post. http://www.pleasant-home.com/2009/10...stival_10.html (mine is the one with the name "Jordan" on it!)
Good luck and I am sure whatever you choose will be cherished!

What about a 4P with alternating solid blocks set on point. I did this for a baby girl and in the solid white block I sewed on a pink ribbon rose in the middle. Came out sweet. I have the pattern if you need it.
I did another one that was 4P with white blocks and I used a coloring book to find ducks, puppies, etc. and hand quilted those designs on the white blocks.
Here's a site, scroll down to the bottom for baby quilts.

I recently made a baby blanket for my niece. Here's a link to the pictures of it. It's kind of like a Scrappy Turning Twenty.

It was really quick to make.
