Our group - which has shrunk to six now - meets once a month on the third Friday - from 11 to approximately 2 - and everyone brings her own bag lunch. The only thing the hostess needs to contribute is a beverage and the meeting place.
(In my case, it's a good reason to tidy up more than usual!)
We have no dues, no pressure to "produce" - they are a super-intelligent group of ladies (the only down side - sometimes I feel like a real dummy around them) and I feel very fortunate to have been able to connect up with them.

Hate to tell you grannie but you are considered a senior in Florida if you are 55 and over so you qualify. As to us seniors (I am 55)half my group here where I live are over 75 and I just love them, they are the best group for quilting, praying when one of us is sick, shopping and going out to lunch try some of the churches they usually have things posted in their church bulletins or maybe a senior center would direct you to some of them. We started ours by posting on a bulletin board at the local store set a time and place and behold people showed up interested. Good luck

It was funny for me. I have not found any quilters that really want to form a group so I just decided I would be a solitary quilter. My DD mentioned that I was making her a coffee quilt and three of her co workers are quilters. They meet at the hospitals classroom once a month and invited me to join. I never thought I would find a fun group like this at the hospital. Strange.

Where in Ohio are you??????? (I might have asked before but can't remember) The Brown County Senior Center, not really senior you have to be 52 has a quilting group. I wish I was able to go. They met once a week but then also go on quilty trips.

Is there a Joann's near you. They have classes you might be able to meet someone there. Or better yet take a quilting class at the local college or high school, maybe there. The people that put that Apple festval on, the ones who post the festival might be able to help you with quilting clubs as they would have to know who is entering the quilts. Ok Im out of ideas....

I'm in the same situation where I live. I can return to my quilting class 1 evening a week this fall but that's the only group I'm aware of. None of my friends my age (46) are quilters and the most common comment I hear is "you quilt???" I think there may be a couple of groups who meet at churches but they are usually morning get-togethers and that doesn't work with my work schedule. I've read some pretty good advice on this posting though and maybe I'll try a few things. I'm not shy and I'd be more then willing to host meetings at my house. It'd make me clean house which would be a good thing! LOL
