    I think it depends on how worn the fabric is if a lot it could wear a lot sooner than newer fabric.

    As long as the fabric is in good shape, use it. I've used things like that in table toppers etc.

    I use things like that all the time. Even go to Goodwill and other charity stores and buy "old" clothes for quilts, especially men's shirts. Actually just finished cutting up about six of my DH's shirts for quilts.

    Heck yes I would use it! I just lined a scarf I made for a friend with flannel I rescued from a shirt!

    Only you would know it was grandma's flannel gown. Use it any way you can and the scraps will come in handy for cleaning.

    I use worn flannel sheets and jammies (the not so worn sections, of course) for the NICU quilts and for table runners, placemates. Not so thick, but works well.
