    That is really good to know, thanks

    so I have another question, what about old silk shirts,blouses and all for making squares for quilts, orr are they too flimsh to use?

    I made a jacket using old silk clothes. I even won a prize for it.

    I betcha our grammas used their old flannel nightgowns for quilts all the time.. :)

    I'd use it for small projects like table runners or totes.

    Yes, use it and any other good quality fabrics such as the laundry basket of partially deconstructed clothing from a thrift shop that a friend had used some of. I got the rest. Washedagain, pressed and trimmed , it has now been absorbed into my stash.

    I remember going to grandmas house as a kid AND sleeping under all her warm heavy quilts made 0ut of everyone's worn out clothes .Waste not want not she had eleven children can you imagine so everything was used I remember a button Jar filled from saving buttons taken off clothes so she could cut them up for piecing quilts
