I have a pattern for a baby quilt that has baby chicks on it. I cut the chicken body out of yellow chenille from an old bedspread and applique it on. I also have a hot pink bathrobe and plan to cut squares from the yellow and pink and alternate them for a kids quilt top.

I can remember going driving to Florida as a child and seeing all the chenille bedspread hanging on lines, for sale. They were the highlight of the trip. When I was first married we had a bright blue, bright rose and white chenille. Once and a while I come across it in pictures.

I use them to make jackets. They are warm and snuggly!
