    Default Older fabric

What happens to the bolts of fabric that no one buys? Is there a clearance outlet somewhere? I'm always behind the curve with colors - sometime don't even like the new ones. I'd like to find some kind of outlet that sold the older stuff.

My closest LQS is very small and only has the older stuff. Apparently there's a wholesaler in the Portland area that sells it.

My sewing room????????????? LOL, actually, most of what I have is more for garment construction. I love black and white for dresses and I've got a bunch to make up some time.

Huh. Did not know about the wholesaler.... Does that mean they don't sell to the public? I thought older bolts of fabric just went on the clearance shelf.

We have a store called 1-2-3 fabrics. You can get older fabrics, fabrics with missprint on the salvage lines and so called seconds. If you are careful in selecting pieces you can get a real bargain for $2-3 dollars. For all of you in Suffolk County, Ny, it is located on Jericho Tpk (Rt-25) in Commack / East Northport area close to the Home Depot.

I have some fabrics that are older and the newer colors don't match them.

Google "fabric warehouse your-state" and "fabric outlet your-state" to see what comes up. Two big ones in MN are SR Harris fabric warehouse and Mill End Textiles (a chain).

    Hi

I know when I worked at my LQS when a fabric didn't sell, most of the line was gone, etc., it was put on the sale rack for half price. Many people watch and wait for this to happen.
