    Default Older viking repair question

Gave 1984-85 Viking mechanical to teen in Tupelo. Think its a 500 something---all paperwork was with it. The power cord started smoking when they sewed for a while with it. Sews great, though. Think, if I remember right, the power cord and the foot control plug in together?..maybe. Think it's just the power cord? If so, can we find on ebay? Thanks for your input?

It would be better if you can tell the exact model number. It should say on the front of the machine if its a 500 or 400 .
I would not use a machine that had anything smoking !

Usually you can find power cords and foot controls on eBay. You might want to join the vintage Viking group on groups.yahoo.com for additional sources.
