Default Olfa Extra Large Cutting Mats

I am looking to buy a large (36x70) a cutting mat. From the survey taken earlier, the majority of you prefer Olfa for cutting mats. But I see that the large Olfa cutting mats have clips that I presume hold the segments together. Does anyone have one of these and do you like it? It just seems to me like those clips could get in the way. Thank you so much for your help.

Yes the clips do get in the way but I put a strip of wide tape down the backside and haven't had a problem with it coming apart. I also don't cut past the seam as a rule.

I have the extra large mat and love it. Yes the clips get in the way but my surface is not slick so my mat does not slip so no need to use the clips. An option would be to get those non-slip stickers and put on the back of the mat.

I have the largest solid Olfa mat they make- 24 X 35. If you want a bigger green mat, google ' self sealing art mats'. You can have them cut to a specific size and they come gridded or plain. I might have one on my Christmas list...IF I can clear off a spot on my cutting table! HA!

My large mats are Alvin. They're a nice "softer" surface that's self healing. I got them on Amazon.
