`I watch Fons and Porter on TV and watch them with the Oliso iron. I really like the looks of it and I like the fact that it pops up when you aren't using it and with all the bumping and grinding I do moving from Point A to Point B when I am quilting and/or sewing I have knocked over more irons.

Do any of you have an Oliso? How do you like it? What price range did you get yours in? (I am not being nosy, I am just interested iin the best iron for the price - not totally concerned with bells and whistles.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks! Edie

I asked on the board about it and the ladies here gave me bad reviews about it.

It seems to be a dangerous invention since you would have to retrain yourself if you ever got another kind of iron.
I like my little Rowenda travel iron for piecing. So easy to handle and it has steam. It dosnt distort your blocks like a heavy iron. Of course it isnt good for ironing large pieces of fabric so I have a cheap iron for that.

I don't have the yellow one, but I do have the blue one. I think I got it at Amazon.com. Think I paid around 69 - 79.00. Don't really remember. I really like mine. I just slide it aside and don't have to pick up all the time. I know I have read some bad reviews about it too, but I do like mine. I think you just have to get use to it and when you do, you don't like any other. It's hard when you're using another kind at the quilt shop and you just want to slide it over, and then you remember, Oops it's gonna burn the cover. lol.

I also have the blue one and I love it. My daughter saw it and had to have one also. I bought mine at the quilt show in Paducah and paid $100. My daughter found hers on E-bay and paid $25. Try that if you decide to buy one.
