    Default Oliso Travel Iron ??

I purchased an Oliso travel iron. It’s style is like the ones where your hand wraps around the body of the iron. I like it but if I press very long, which I frequently do, my hand gets uncomfortably hot. It was expensive and I want to continue to use it. Can you suggest something to protect my hand. Tried a hot pad but that wasn’t very successful.

I did not purchase this iron but three of my friends did. They all have the same complaint as you do as well as the silicone pad to put it on gets too hot. All three of them returned the iron, they felt it was a fire waiting to happen.

I have heard this same complaint at a retreat. The lady I saw tried to use her Klutz glove as sort of a oven mitt. Eventually she used the ironing station and let the travel iron cool.

Thank you for posting this issue. I was looking for a travel iron and will look at some different ones.

It gets hotter because this iron is 1000 watts. Most mini irons are under 500 watts. Silicone isn't effected by heat under 450 degrees. This iron won't get anywhere near that temp. I have one and I haven't noticed my hand getting too hot when using it. I grip it with my fingers and don't have my whole palm against it. It's the hottest mini iron available and that's what makes it so nice.
