When the Olympics were held in Atlanta in 1994, 2 quilts were given to each country participating. They were constructed by quilt guilds all over Georgia, over 400. There was even a book published, can't remember the name.

The book is called "The Olympics Games Quilts." I am mentioned in the back since I made one of the quilts...but they had too many and held a lottery---mine was returned to me after the lottery so it wasn't photographed for the book :( but it was still fun to participate. I was a rank beginner at the time and probably would have been embarrassed at the simplicity of my quilt compared to the others.... There are a couple of great patterns in the book if you ever run across it.
