See if you have a magnetic screwdriver. You can try it by trying to pick up another piece of metal. That happened to me. Look through a magnifying glass and see if you can see if the tip came off the needle. I have one of those. They're like 7-8 bucks at the hardware. Worth every penny and are telescopic.

I had that happen to me and I was sure I would have to take it in for repair. Then I tried dropping the feed dogs and then putting them back up and it worked fine after that. It may not work for you but it's worth a shot.

I know that sick feeling! I hit something with my Bernina 440 and knocked the timing into the next universe. Even the B repairman had to have 2 tries at getting it right. $100 but she is good as new.
