I went years ago and was more frustrated to find other vendors in buying up the flannel by the bolt.
And it does seem they would benefit all by having a cutting area for just one or two pieces of fabric. It will make the overall line shorter and get the people only after one or two items out if the store. The theory people will wander and buy more doesn't count the people setting down the items and walking out.

I went on Saturday - late morning and it wasn't too bad. I did wait on the cutting line for quite awhile - my Joann's does not have a number system. I have asked about the number system and was told over a year ago that they were going to investigate it. Emails to corporate seem to go straight to trash so I no longer bother since never have gotten a response - not even an automated one. I generally buy only what is really on sale.
