I'm wondering if anyone knows of one? Or a book? I was thinking it would be a nice resource for dating old quilts. I have started collecting pictures of old quilts, specifically closeups of the fabrics. I was thinking that if there was one of these, and they got enough pictures of fabrics from dated quilts, the fabrics could be used to date unsigned quilts.

Suggest getting.....Dating Fabrics: A Color Guide. The book contains fabric samples for each period.

Give this site a look-see. Maybe it will help. I know it’s not fabric, per se, but you can search quilts by style, collection, time period, pattern or state. Maybe you’ll see comparable fabric in some of the quilts....
