Opening new threads
I have just been opening threads in main and pictures. Especially in pictures how many of you try to picture the quilt before you see it?
Just opened. Mt Rushmore and thought presidents could you make a quilt with the faces method : the on where take picture and small lines believe quilter who designed this is writing a book.
Opened up and saw a very handsome young man and a quilt with pictures o f presidents. Young man's face is delightful.

I thought you meant opening new spools of thread. I was going to say I have trouble with it-if there's plastic covering it, it's hard to find the tear point and I don't want to cut into it and cut the thread. And then I can never find the end of the thread once I do get the plastic off.
carry on.
carry on.

I read on this site somewhere that some folks donate their quilts to charitys etc. I thought this is a great idea -helping people with God given talants He bless us with. Here in Memphis we have a huge St. Judes Foundation, and i have decided to try to collect as much fabrics as i can and make lil quilts for the kids. Since im returning to quilting after 23 years, my stash is like a big fat 0. Im working on getting scraps, fat quarters, good will finds, etc. A girlfriend will join me in fall to also help. So i need all the ideas of how to find cheap and free fabs for my quest. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
