Opinions about baby quilt
#11
I've made a lot of baby quilts and never used baby prints in any of them. I like the second picture better but if you feel it's to dark just add a bright color as a sashing. Looking at the blocks I could see a bright or light green, yellow, orange even a bright blue would work.

I like the second one best too.to add a little baby into the mix.u could snowball the corners with a pastel color..or off white..natural..it would soften the darker colors..or u could sash them with a solid color..it is a cool quilt anyway u go..and even adding the solid sashing or snowballing..it will be useable as baby grows

My daughter just finished a "baby" quilt which she donated to our Guild's charity program. It was black & white prints, several tone-on-tone grays and lime green prints. Not baby-ish in any way, but some new mom is going to love it.
I, too, like the second layout. I wouldn't worry about the corners matching. It will be stunning, and your grand will love it.
My daughter just made a new quilt for her daughter, and when she got it, she looked at her mom and said, "I love it, but I'm still sleeping with BoBo." That's the quilt I made for her when she was 2 weeks old. She is now 6 and can't go to sleep without it.
