I want to say 'Thank You' for all your input. I am going to keep 1/2 yard of those pieces that 'speak to me'. I think that idea of a fabric swap meet is a wonderful idea.

Do you think it would be wise for me to keep two fat quarters (one half yard) of each so that I could make smaller items and scrappy quilts? I value everyone's opinion on this board. Everyone has a different view and I have come to respect all of you. Thanks for your help in the past. Happy Daylight Saving Day!!!
Absolutely!! Sounds like that is what your little heart wants to do. Grandkids and such would love any thing made by grandma!

By the way, would you consider posting some of them on the board here for those of us who can't make it to NY????? I'm sure you would get many takers and have the garage sale with the left-overs!!!Just a thought!
I agree. I would love to come to your sale, but too far to travel for me. I'm sure that there are some of us here that would buy. Especially if it a piece that they have been looking for. I also have gone to a quilt guild fabric sale. The person had moved out of state & had to downsize. She had most of her fabric, design walls & frames at the sale. I think she sold everything & for a reasonable price. I know that I bought my share of it. I just wigh that I would have had room for one of the design walls. Wouldn't fit in car or room.

If you like to work on scrappy quilts, I'd agree to saving at least a fat quarter of all your fabrics and sell the rest of it.

For you to decide how much fabric you can deal with.

What is a "fabric swap meet", I can't say that I have ever heard of that before?

I am 71 and also have more fabric than I will ever use, but I have told my family I intend to keep it till I die! They can do what they want when I am gone. My fabric is my main pleasure in life. I think the sugestion about posting it here is a good idea and you would make more from it than in a garage sale.

I would love to check out your garage sale, but don't know if I would be able to for certain. Even so, please keep us posted when you decide on a date!
