In the olden days, women would use lace, ribbons, buttons, jewelry, and beads on their crazy quilts. However, those quilts were not used on the beds. They would lay them over a couch or use as a wall hanging. I have lots of scraps so im not worried about size , but would like it to be queen possibly. Yes i think i will use black sashing as was suggested above. Haven't planned the borders yet. This quilt is one that is in progress without any planning ahead. I just grab scraps and fit together like a puzzle , using decorative stitching that is on my machine. As for the quilting part, well guess i'll cross that bridge when i get to it. Im not one into the fancy quilting since i don't have a machine to do that, but i'll figure something out as time goes by. Am definitely open for suggestions on that.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree, a thin sashing would set it off.

I would like to do a crazy quilt someday. I love the way your blocks turned out. In looking at them, and thinking about how to quilt it, I think I will try to do my quilt as you go. That way once you join them with sashing, it would be done and all the lovely decorative stitching would be the quilting you've already done. Great job on what you've done!

I recognize some of those fabrics! You have done a beautiful job on the blocks. The black sashing would make the blocks look amazing!

I love it . . . and really got some chuckles, over the comments regarding your 'sashing!'

so pretty!!! I liked the "gold" lol... but they are right, a dark sashing will allow each block to "shine"

you might try tying the quilt, in the corners of the blocks in the sashing, using the same color thread as the sashing.
